Canadian Blood Services (CBS) held their annual charity golf tournament on Tuesday, June 10, 2014. This was the first year CBS received a large corporate sponsor that took over both the fundraising and organizing of this event. It was a great accomplishment as this has been a goal of CBS’s for quite some time. Scotiabank and the Gudbranson family joined forces to hold this first annual Gudbranson-Scotiabank Celebrity Classic in support of the campaign “For All Canadians”, a fundraiser to help build a National Public Cord Blood Bank.

The premier Gudbranson-Scotiabank Celebrity Classic included an NHL hockey player with each foursome. Natalie Beauchamp, RJR’s CFO/Operations Manager, golfed along with guests Aaron Nussey from the Ottawa Senators Hockey Club & Canadian Tire Centre, and Marc Lamothe, a professional goaltender drafted by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1992 NHL Entry Draft. Their NHL celebrity guest was Brendan Smith, Detroit Red Wings defenseman.

The event was a great success as over $50,000 was raised which far surpassed expectations! As RJR Innovations is a dedicated supporter of the Bruce Denniston Bone Marrow Society, with initiatives that are closely linked with CBS and the campaign “For All Canadians”, this is a tournament RJR proudly supports.

Brendan Smith, Natalie Beauchamp, Aaron Nussey and Marc Lamothe enjoy a great day of golf.
