The following is an excerpt from a well know poem written almost 400 years ago. It struck a familiar chord even if it was somewhat out of date. So I wrote an updated version which I believe is more relevant to today’s world.
Original Poem – by John Donne – 1624
No man is an island, entire of its self every man is a piece of the Continent, a part of the main; if a Clod be washed away by the Sea, Europe is the lesser, …; any man’s death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankind; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee
RJR’s Updated version – by Ron Sorrell – 2009
No Business Process is an island, alone with no impact. Every process is a piece of the business, a part of the whole. If a process be ignored by management, the business will be poorer, …; any person’s failing diminishes me because I am involved in the Organization; and therefore never to know for who the pink slip looks for, it looks for me

What does this really mean?
If your organization doesn’t embrace best practices from management to non management, then there will be less agility to make decisions, lost opportunities, lost revenue, lost profit and business contraction.
RJR consultants can assist you in meeting industry-standard best practices and compliance regulations such as Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX), Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), and Health Insurance Portability and Accounting Act (HIPAA).
