Yesterday, May 16 2013, marked the 16th annual Bruce Denniston Bone Marrow Society charity golf tournament. RJR was very much involved, as we always are with this great charity. The Bruce Denniston Bone Marrow Society has been moving full steam ahead with ongoing initiatives. This year, the society has joined the One Match program (in collaboration with Canadian Blood Services) with efforts in creating a national Public Cord Bank. For more information on how you can get involved and the importance of this program please visit the Bruce Denniston Ottawa Chapter website by clicking here.
Yesterday we had three foursome’s from RJR golfing the course as well as some of our employees working our sponsorship hole, where you could purchase tickets for a chance to win an iPad Mini. We decided to spice things up this year and create our very own iPad Mini costume to entice the golfers. I think it worked, because we were able to raise $1000 on this hole alone. The iPad Mini was donated by RJR.
This wasn’t the only excitement of the day. There was also a large table of silent auction items including handmade jewellery, surround sound speaker systems, gift certificates and concert tickets, just to name a few.
More than anything, we are very proud to be apart of such a great charity where 100% of the proceeds go into it’s initiatives. We were surrounded by generous and passionate individuals and we thank everyone involved in making this event possible.
